Player Ratings

Backgammon isn't a game of chance! Although it is diced, but after the throw strategic and tactical decisions must be taken which go far beyond simple probability. I myself have about 15 years working intensively with chess before I came to play backgammon. Even if backgammon is not nearly as profound as chess, this systematic strategic education came to my very good.

Similar to the Elo rating in chess, backgammon also obtained a rating number that reflects your skill level. So if you play backgammon for real money, then do not do this against opponents with a much higher rating!

Many who beat her grandmother at home, wondering that it does not work as well online on the internet. Very often even cheating is then assumed e.g. when the opponent throw 2 or 3 doubles at bearing off. My goodness, 1/6 of all throws are doubles. There may come a few times in a row already. If the opponent even has this happiness, then, in most cases, just because you played badly and approved this happiness. Played badly because you have not doubled or the doubling cube (and thus the "power") is at the opponent. You have thus doubled the wrong time.

The doubling cube is the most important strategic element in backgammon. Somewhat makes strategic sense place the men, that weaker player also can do. But only the really strong players can work well with the doubling cube!

Therefore, not seeking the cause in the luck or bad luck. Appreciates your skill level correctly and accepted them if you play backgammon.
